Hogan's Got a "Monster Idea", Brother

The New York Post has published a new article featuring an interview with Impact Wrestling star Hulk Hogan, during which he discusses the growth of TNA Wrestling and its future. The following is a noteworthy excerpt from the article, which you can read in full by clicking on the above link:

While Hogan wouldn�t explicitly tell The Post what the next move for TNA is, he teased several times that it will be a �momentum-shifting moment� for the industry.

�You can have a wrestling idea, but you need to have these momentum-shifting moves,� Hogan said. �We had the Hulkamania movement, then it shifted to the beer-drinking, Stone Cold era, we reinvented the business with [Hogan] growing the black beard and becoming the bad guy, what�s that next level. I have this huge monster idea that I am going to throw out there that I really think is going to change the business.�

I've read that apparently, he wants to do a TMZ-type thing where fans are encouraged to shoot footage of the wrestlers when they saw them out in public, pretty much meaning that TNA stars would have stay in character whenever they are in public...yeah....there is a rumor that Hogan will leave if this doesn't work out. This is real life trolling. Hogan's probably like "fuck this company" and it digging it's grave even deeper before before he leaves.

Hogan Taking Legal Action Against Steiner

TNA Impact Wrestling star Hulk Hogan, who has been the target of several online attacks from former WWE and TNA star Scott Steiner, has claimed on Twitter that his lawyers will be taking legal action against Steiner. The following has been posted by Hogan on Twitter:

"Tried to be cool, not only a clown but also a liar. those weren't my lawyers they were TNA lawyers. well I guess it's time to call my guys in."

"I really hope he saved his money or is making tons from the independents he's working because it's gonna get expensive,maby he's smart enough to at least figure it out when it starts getting real,what a shame,what a waste of a great talent,but u can't tell an idiot their an Idiot. It's really sad when you really thought someone was really cool. HH"

Chris Jericho recently talked with the Daily Star about his imminent departure from WWE. Here is what he had to say.

�I�m in the best shape ever, I�m not hurt, I can easily come back for as long as I want whenever I want, but people should understand that I�m not going to wrestle until I�m 85-years-old," Jericho told Patrick Lennon of the Star. "I ended up signing for four months longer than I planned to do. And, yes, when it�s done I�ll devote myself 100 percent to Fozzy for our run."

Jericho also spoke about wrestling fans. "(C.M.) Punk and I had some good thoughts on what we could do together and people were saying screw you, you�re only back for the payday at Mania," Jericho said. He added later, "Sometimes I wonder what people want. Do they want us to wrestle forever? I�m a sell-out because I quit? Rock and Taker came back because they love wrestling, and the fans, yet still people bitch."

I agree. There's no pleasing the 'Community. You're damned if you do and damned if you don't. What do people want? You can't be like The Rock and leave for years then come back because you sold out. On the contrary, you can't be John Cena and stay because then you're hogging the main event scene and people get bored with you. Undertaker still puts on wonderful matches every year at Mania because even though he knows he can't do it every day, he loves the business and the fans but you will come across that one asshole saying "HE TOO OLD. HE NEED TO RETIRE." However, if Taker would've left a long time ago to pursue other things like Jericho and Rock, he'd be just of a sellout. There's no middle ground with people. So what do we as fans want?

Prob more excited about this than Raw going 3 hours, as there's no way to fuck up live or any risks from it besides the cost. They'll have to up their production and the wrestlers up their promos/matches, etc.

Like most everybody, I look at NXT as the joke brand of WWE, a show full of losers that don't matter that nobody cares about and no reason to exist.

Now that may all be true, but after the news broke that NXT was getting moved and rebranded in Florida, I checked out a couple of episodes and followup matches for people that looked respectable, and was actually pretty surprised at how good most of the wrestling was. Now there's no real way around that the storylines are pointless and honestly not even featured very much from what i've seen. But their roster actually works quite well, and is deserving of checking out if you have 30-60 minutes on your hands and need to kill some time. There are the ex-WWE guys like Tyson Kidd, McGillicutty, Tatsu who are strong talents in the ring. Hawkins & Reks and The Usos bring above average stuff when given the chance. Even Kaitlyn is actually really good. When the reboot comes they should bring in the FCW guys and start better storylines.

So yeah, check it out, basically.

Thoughts on who/what this could possibly be for? IMO, stupid to have a revolutionary with Punk serving as your Cult of Personality...

...but I'm interested. I'd be led to believe it's an angle to deal with overthrowing Ace... but I'm thinking more along the lines of a possible Wade deal with a new faction.

NEEDS to be brought back in full capacity, not just for this angle with Brock Lesnar/Triple H.

I want this man as GM of SmackDown at the very least, but both shows would be ideal (but not as Raw GM only). For one, it SHOULD encourage talents to drive their own promo game up as Heyman is, at least in my own opinion, the best promo currently working in agreement with the WWE. Secondly, we're talking about someone who would have immense influence on the product (as I can't imagine Heyman coming back full-time without some creative emphasis) and Heyman's creative input is quite valuable, ESPECIALLY compared to Ace/Vince and whichever other lame fuck they hire to try and book.

I don't know Heyman's intentions/desires in doing business of this magnitude again, but considering he was considering at one point in completely running TNA and doing their shit live on a weekly basis, I'd assume he'd take the job if the circumstances were right with WWE.

Thoughts?
